Level of Radioactivity: Art. 35 Euratom Treaty - Report 1990-2007

Under Article 35 of the Euratom Treaty, Member States have to follow safety standards on the level of radioactivity in the air, water and soil to protect people from the dangers of excessive radiation. This Communication shows that while the Commission has stepped up checks in recent years, it has not been necessary to bring a Member State to court.
