End-of-Life Vehicles: Fourth Technical Update on Heavy Metals

The EU is gradually phasing out the use of heavy metals in vehicles by prohibiting the use of lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium in vehicle components. Certain components are exempt from the ban until there are safer substitute materials available. This Decision changes the exemptions to reflect scientific and technical progress.
