Ex-Beatle in Brussels

04 December 2009
Paul McCartney was in Brussels recently to promote his Meat Free Monday campaign. The aim of the campaign is to encourage people to go vegetarian at least once a week, for health reasons and to help cut emissions. Some environmental campaigners have identified meat production as a major source of greenhouse gases. McCartney says that having one designated meat-free day a week is a meaningful change that everyone can make. McCartney’s ‘Meat Free Monday’ concert tour begins shortly in Hamburg, the city where the Beatles began their career.
