Aggressiveness Link to Sweets

02 October 2009
Adults who are violent are likely to have eaten sweets every day as children, says a new study conducted by researchers at Cardiff University. Indeed the study found that 69 per cent of the participants who had a history of violence had eaten sweets and chocolate nearly every day in childhood. This observation was found to hold true even when variables such as household income, educational qualifications and where participants in the study lived were factored in. The favoured explanation for these results is that violent people were unable to defer gratification and where therefore more likely to give into their impulses.
