Asbestos ‘Set to Kill Thousands’

According to the UK’s Health and Safety Executive, more than 80,000 people are expected to die of asbestos related illness before 2050, with the number peaking in 2016. Asbestos was widely used in the British construction industry until the year 2000 when an import ban was introduced. The main people who are likely to be affected are those who working in the construction trade, in shipping or on the railways.
