Baltic Sea Clean Up an ‘Investment’

Finnish researchers at MTT Agrifood Research are launching a research project to study the impact of pollution on economic activity in the Baltic region. Inspired by former World Bank chief economist Nicholas Stern’s report into the effects of climate change on the global economy, MTT Agrifood Research will analyse the costs of failing to act to combat pollution in the region. Expert say that many governments in the region will not prioritise cleaning the Baltic if they do not feel they will benefit from the process.
