Baltic States Address Pollution

Baltic countries have promised to worked together in order to save one of the world's most polluted seas. The summit in Helsinki, which brought together Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Finland Germany, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus and Norway, will look at cross-border solutions to the issue of cleaning up one of the world’s busiest sea routes. Some 90 million people live in countries bordering the Baltic Sea, through which 15% of the world's cargo traffic already passes through. Some environmental campaigners claim that the Baltic is so toxic that pregnant women should be advised not eat its fish.
