Bar Staff Breathe Easier

Bar workers with respiratory problems have experienced less health problems due to the smoking ban, a study in Scotland shows. The survey examined workers in 5 areas of Scotland and concluded that the percentage of workers with respiratory problems such as wheezing, shortness of breath and coughs has fallen from 69% when the ban was introduced to 57%. Even bar workers who smoke regularly have experienced less respiratory problems since the ban took effect.
