Binning Food Waste

Households in the UK could be banned from binning food waste and certain forms of packaging under new recycling plans. These materials would instead have to be recycled, composted or burned for energy. The proposals from the UK’s Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) will now be put out for a 12-week consultation. A ban on most items could be introduced within five years.
