Black Sea Region Floods

The Bulgarian Black Sea cities of Varna and Burgas were closed recently due to flooding over the Christmas period. The Civil Protection Service division in Varna said that roads would remain closed until water levels drop. The region has experienced some dramatic rainfall; one day in December saw over 48 litres per square metre in just last 24 hours.
