Breakfast Habits Linked to Productivity

17 March 2009
Failure to eat a proper breakfast costs billions in lost productivity, according to new research. A survey of over 1,500 British workers to try and find a link between breakfast and productivity suggests that the lack of a proper meal in the morning costs the UK alone 923 million man hours and £22bn every year. As identified by the study, 33% of workers who fail to eat breakfast suffer from a ‘brain freeze’ for the first 2 hours of work, 28% claim to suffer from a lack of concentration and 20% admit that they are unable to do their job properly. The survey was carried out by statistician Dr. Geoff Ellis.
