Breathalysers for Train Drivers
15 October 2009
In the wake of a train derailment in Wroclaw, Poland, after which two passengers were injured, Polish Railways have implemented measures to breathalyse train drivers daily. The driver of the derailed train was found by police hiding in a nearby forest with a blood alcohol level far above the legal limit for operating motor vehicles. He is now in custody and could face up to 10 years in prison if found guilty of causing the accident. There were 200 passengers aboard the train.
