A section of ceiling in the Bucharest mayor’s office collapsed yesterday, killing a workman who was employed in refurbishing the building. He had suffered a heart attack by the time an ambulance arrived. Paramedics succeeded in reviving him and bringing him to the hospital, however he died later of his injuries. The authorities are investigating to find out if labour safety norms were observed at the site.
