Businesses Cutting Safety Budgets

11 May 2009
Nearly 1 in 10 UK businesses has cut its safety budget due to economic constraints, claims a new study. The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), which commissioned the survey, said that despite the findings, around three quarters of employers claim that no reductions to their health and safety budget have been made. In addition, more than one quarter of employers also said that they would still enable those on incapacity benefit to return to the workplace. The survey was launched in the UK to accompany a new IOSH manifesto calling on the government to encourage people to return to work.
