Buying Green for Consumers

A forum meant to help consumers buy green was launched by EuroCommerce and the European Retail Roundtable. This came as a “counter proposal” to the European Commission’s Communication on Sustainable Consumption and Production. But the Forum also issued an Action Plan in which individual members agree to voluntarily reduce the environmental footprint of the retail sector and its supply chain. The creation of the Forum was welcomed by both the European consumers' organisation BEUC and the European Environmental Bureau.
