A campaign designed to raise awareness of the importance of breakfast recently took place in Brussels, Belgium. The European Cereal Breakfast Association was joined by teachers and health organisations to highlight the fact that many Europeans tend to skip breakfast. The most cited reasons for this are lack of time and lack of appetite. Research has suggested that not starting the day with a nutritious breakfast can affect mental performance and energy levels, and even affect health. The campaigners want policy makers to encourage more regular breakfast consumption.
