Concern over Carbon Nanotubes

25 June 2009
Inhaling carbon nanotubes could negatively affect the immune system of workers, claims new research. The researchers, writing in the journal Nature Nanotechnology, said that workers, not consumers, were most at risk. According to their findings, staff working in carbon nanotube production and processing would be significantly more likely to be exposed to large amounts over a longer period of time. The findings could have implications for future health and safety legislation covering those working in the manufacture of nanomaterials.
