Construction Safety Report Published
09 July 2009
A 96-page government inquiry into fatalities on UK building sites has been published. The report, entitled One Death Too Many, calls for the appointment of a full-time minister of construction and new laws to make it easier to prosecute directors who fail to ensure good health and safety management. Construction still accounts for more deaths than any other sector. The UK government will now discuss the report with trade unions and the construction industry before responding later this year.
