Czech Power Station Protest

20 June 2009
Environmental activists have staged a protest at the Prunerov power plant in the Czech Republic, claiming that the plant ignores valid legal regulations. The protestors have also criticised the planned reconstruction of the coal powered plant, claiming that the technology to be used is out of date. They want to see operations at the plant completely phased out by 2015. The plant’s operators however say that the planned overhaul is environmentally friendly and will contribute positively to improving the environment in north Bohemia.
