Danish Biofuel Plan Postponed

An ambitious plan for all petrol in Denmark to contain bioethanol, originally scheduled to be implemented from 1 January 2010 has been rolled back to 1 June in order to ensure that refineries and petrol stations are ready for the change. A postponement of the bioethanol deadline was requested as the conversion of two refineries at Fredericia and Kalundborg to produce biofuel was taking longer than expected and also because the pilot programme, implemented in Aarhus, demonstrated that the infrastructure for providing every petrol station in the country with biofuel was not yet available.
