Danish Clean Energy Exports

Clean energy technology has been Denmark’s largest export industry since 2008. Exports of clean energy technologies have increased over recent years and have been challenging agriculture as the country’s top export sector. In 2008, growth rates of energy technologies surpassed by 4 times average export growth. Exported clean technologies include wind turbines and energy saving equipment such as thermostats and pumps. Exports have lost a little ground due to the credit crunch but Denmark remains confident that a further increase will be seen as soon, as global investments in energy technologies pick up again.
