Debate over Meat Policy

Cutting out meat in order to mitigate climate change could present nutritional concerns, claim researchers. The scientists say reductions in meat intake are an “inevitable policy option” given that agriculture is responsible for a large amount of CO2 emissions, but point out that meat and dairy products currently account for about 25% of daily energy intakes. They suggest that food fortification could be one answer to potential nutritional deficiencies.
