Debate over Nord-Stream

Estonia’s environment minister has asked Finland to take into account the environmental impact of the controversial Nord-Stream pipeline - which will bring Russian gas into Europe via the Baltic - as well as Estonia’s position on the project. Estonia believes that the environmental impact assessment studies that have been carried out so far are insufficient and has requested additional research. Finland and Estonia have signed an agreement on cross-border environmental impacts.
