Denmark Losing Wind Energy Lead?

Denmark could lose its position as Europe’s leading wind energy nation, according to the European Wind Energy Association. Germany increased its wind power capacity 21 times as much as Denmark in 2008, while other countries also increased wind production. Some in the industry now believe it will be very difficult for the Danish government to reach its goal of wind power meeting 20% of the country’s total energy needs by 2025. Wind power currently accounts for 6% of Denmark’s national energy usage.
