Denmark: Switch to Green Energy

30 April 2009
Many Danish consumers have switched electricity companies to small independent green suppliers, according to industry reports. Companies specialising in environmentally-friendly energy have reported significant increases in clients over the past few months. Natur-Energi, a company supplying electricity produced from sustainable energy sources, has seen a 100% increase since the beginning of the year, while carbon dioxide elimination specialist Modstrøm expects to have at least 30,000 clients by 2010. Despite this, Denmark is still far behind the Netherlands, where 1.5 million consumers are supplied by green energy companies.
