Dutch Farm Fined Over Workers

20 June 2009
A farm owner who allegedly forced employees to work in horrendous conditions was arrested recently in the Netherlands. The workers claimed they were not permitted to leave the farm and were forced to buy food at increased prices. The farm in question had already been fined 5 times since 2005 for employing illegal immigrants, paying less than the minimum wage and failing to report an on-site accident.
