Dutch Greenhouse Gas Study

27 May 2009
A Netherlands-based research project has estimated that greenhouse gas emissions produced by mankind at a global level increased by 15% between 2000 and 2005. The Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL)’s Emission Database for Global Atmospheric Research, or "EDGAR", underlines just how much greenhouse gas emissions have accelerated. Emissions increased by just 3% for the period 1990-1995 and 6% between 1995 and 2000. EDGAR has also estimated that the biggest increases in greenhouse gas emissions have taken place in industrialised countries.
