Dutch Meat Substitute Incentive

The Dutch Ministry of Agriculture is offering a prize of €1.7 million to entrepreneurs who can come up with a marketable protein-rich substitute to meat. Participants in the competition will have to prove that their substitutes, which can be made from plants, algae, fungi or even insects, are commercially viable and environmentally sustainable. The deadline for submitting entries has been set for 23 September.
