E-coli Threat from Petting Zoo

Britain has experienced its largest ever E. coli outbreak spread by farm animals, after a number of visitors to Godstone Farm in Surrey were taken ill with the bacterium. A total of 36 cases have been confirmed by the Health Protection Agency (HPA), with three children under 10 said to be very seriously ill. The farm has been closed, yet questions remain as to why it was allowed to remain open for business for two weeks after the first cases were reported.
