Ebola Virus Incident in Workplace

A female worker at the Bernard-Nocht Tropenistitut in Hamburg, Germany has been quarantined after being pierced by a needle carrying the deadly Ebola Virus. The victim was working in a high security unit at the national reference centre for tropical diseases and was wearing protective clothing at the time of the injury. She was moved to an emergency mobile treatment unit last week as a precaution. So far no symptoms have appeared, but medical staff warn that victims can develop symptoms within the first 21 days of infection. The Ebola Virus proves fatal in 90% of cases.
