Eco-Town Funding

The UK has announced a £60 million initiative to build 600 new homes on the site of 4 eco-towns. At present, all new homes have to score at least 4 out of a possible 6 on the Government's green rating system. From 2016 however, all new homes will have to be carbon neutral. Environmentally sensitive infrastructure for the eco-towns is also taken into consideration, such as renewable energy sources, greener spaces and improved public transport.
