Electrocution Cases in France

21 September 2009
A 23-year old, taken to hospital in Nantes with severe burns after entering a rail freight yard, is the latest victim of a spate of electrocutions caused by electrified railroads in the west of France. The accident happened only a week after a 25 year old was killed in similar circumstances in Rennes and a year after a 17 year old was killed in Angers. French State Railways have reissued a warning that anyone coming within three metres of an electric line is at risk of electrocution.
