Europe Police to Haiti

Europe has agreed to send up to 350 police to the earthquake-struck Caribbean island of Haiti. Police from France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands will operate under UN authority, said the Spanish Presidency of the EU. There has been criticism of delays in getting food, water and medical supplies to the survivors, and fears that the island nation could descend into chaos without substantial support.
