European Mayors in Green "Covenant"

Some 400 European cities have committed to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions and energy consumptions by signing the “Covenant of Mayors” pact during Sustainable Energy Week. Sustainable energy plans laying down measures to reduce pollution and improve efficiency at local level need to be adopted by signatories. Cities that fail to meet their targets will be excluded from the pact, upon external evaluators’ decisions.
