Eye Safety in Auto Manufacturing

A fifth of occupational accidents in the car industry and car repair sector are due to a lack of eye protection, says the Centre for Occupational Safety in Finland. Most accidents are generated by flying metal sparks while welding or using an angle grinder. Other eye-accidents are happen when fixing damages caused by rust, as particles located under the car can fall in the eyes. Although such hazards can easily be avoided by using appropriate eye-protection, the use of such devices is still not popular among many workers.
