Focus on Spanish Eggs

A Spanish egg production facility has been linked to a dramatic increase in the number of salmonella cases in the UK in 2009. The plant has been named as the likely source of salmonella-tainted eggs as part of a joint investigation. Companies known to have received infected eggs have been alerted. Two elderly people died during one outbreak of salmonella at a care home.
