26 June 2009
An increase in demand for organic foods is evident in France, according to the country’s Minister of Agriculture. The number of farmers switching to organic farming went up by 15% in 2009, with 63,000 hectares of land currently being converted to organic status. The conversion from conventional to organic farming, which is five times higher than it was in 2008, will receive a total funding of €58m.
