France: New Emissions Law

France has published new proposals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while also protecting business. The new tax proposal amends a law that was rejected by the high court last month. There were concerns that the new tax, which aims to encourage French consumers to stop wasting energy, would create inequalities. Under the new plan, certain energy-intensive sectors will still receive exemptions.
