France Pesticide Study

France could reduce its use of pesticides by 30% through better crop management, claims a study from the national agricultural research institute (INRA). Potato and rapeseed oil crops would be most affected because of their high dependence on pesticides. Cereals and potatoes accounted for 67.4% of total pesticide use in 2006, compared with 14.4% and 5.2% for wine crops and fruits respectively.
