GMOs in Conventional Seeds

The European seed industry called on the European Commission to present a proposal on thresholds to label the accidental presence of GMOs in conventional seeds. At the moment some companies work in 'total legal uncertainty’, according to Olivier Lucas, head of scientific affairs at RAGT, a French breeding and seed production company. Industry says threshold would need to be around 0.9%. The Commission is currently finalising impact studies on establishment of seed thresholds.
