German Concern over Cloned Food

23 June 2009
German consumer rights group Foodwatch has called for a study into the ethical dimensions of cloning animals. It argues that people should have the right to refuse cloned meat and fish for any reason. The German Farmers Association has also called for a thorough analysis of the ethical dimensions of selling cloned food. Germany's Deputy Agriculture Minister Gert Lindemann recently said that he doesn't expect cloned food on supermarket shelves any time soon.
