Greece: Neither Coal nor Nuclear

Development Minister Kostis Hatzidakis has announced that Greece will not invest in new coal-fired or nuclear power stations. This announcement has brought Greece against the tide of recent decisions made by other European countries on the issue. Sweden recently decided to reverse its policy on phasing out nuclear power. There have also been discussions in Germany on whether to further delay the 2021 deadline for phasing out existing plants.
