HORECA Working Conditions

The hotel and restaurants sector features a number of jobs that pose potential risks to workers such as noise, temperature problems, physically demanding work and contact with dangerous substances. These findings were presented recently at a conference in Cyprus entitled Working Safely in the Hotel, Restaurants and Catering Sector (HORECA). The aim of the conference was to help SMEs become more aware of these issues and to take measures designed to minimise occupational risks. The growing hotel, restaurant and catering sector currently employs more than 7.8 million people.
