Health & Safety Fears Shut Event

Locals in the town of Stockport, England have reacted angrily to the news that they will not be allowed to hold an annual charity fundraising event on health and safety grounds. The event was scheduled for 7 November to raise money for vulnerable children and young people in the area. Volunteers however, in particular cooks for the barbeque, did not have the right health and safety qualifications. Previous events had raised sums of up to €22,000.
