Heathrow Airport Runway Row

The construction of a third runway at Heathrow airport can proceed without hindering the government’s carbon emissions targets, say advisors. The Committee on Climate Change says that 60% more passenger can use British airports by 2050 without affecting these targets. The assessment is based on the development of more fuel-efficient aircraft and a high-speed rail network. Aviation remains one of the fastest-growing sources of greenhouse gas emissions.
