High-Risk Sectors in Ireland

Agriculture, quarries and construction have been identified as the high risk sectors of employment in Ireland’s work programme on occupational health and safety for 2009. The programme, which was launched by the Minister for Labour Affairs, Billy Kelleher T.D., sets out the targets, key priorities and activities for the Irish Health and Safety Authority and includes over 17,000 workplace inspections.
