Hungary Receives €200m for Forests
22 October 2009
The European Investment Bank (EIB) announced yesterday that it will give Hungary a €350 million loan, €200 million of which will be earmarked for the development, management and protection of forests. The loan of EUR 200 million will co-finance the New Hungary Rural Development Programme approved by the European Commission for 2007-2013. It will support EU objectives in the fields of climate change, forestry, biodiversity protection, soil and water management trough development and modernisation of forestry, afforestation of agricultural land and restoring forestry potential.
