Inspections Close UK Building Sites

One in five construction sites in Yorkshire, UK have been forced to close following a series of unexpected inspections by UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) officials. The inspectors visited 104 work sites and issued enforcement notices against 18 of them. Most of the notices referred to working at height and inappropriate asbestos surveys prior to demolition. According to HSE’s Principal Inspector, “contractors are still failing to plan and manage work of this nature”.
