Ireland Fined Over Shellfish Water

Ireland is facing a fine of nearly €4m for its failure to comply with legislation on the quality of shellfish waters. More specifically, the country has failed to establish pollution-reduction programmes in certain areas and to set acceptable levels of metals in waters. The country has been given three months to comply with the ruling.
