Irish Tainted Milk Scare

A food safety alert has been issued in Ireland following the discovery of iodine-contaminated soya milk. The product, imported from Japan, has been identified as the cause of an outbreak of thyroid illnesses in Australia. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has confirmed that packs of soya milk High levels of iodine consumption is contacting Irish distributors and suppliers to ensure that all affected products are withdrawn from sale. Point of sale notices in supermarkets and shops are also being displayed.
